We all want the things we purchase to last. Nothing is more frustrating than having a product break or fall apart after only a short time of service. When Mac and Donna Mattoon began making American Caddy Vac in 1998, they knew there was a market for a truck mounted cleaning unit that would outlast the truck and chassis it was mounted on.
American Caddy Vacs are made of 12- and 16-guage galvanized steel (and now also come in stainless steel models). And every component of the Caddy Vac is built with longevity and ease of maintenance in mind. With proper care and maintenance, the American Caddy Vac cleaner can last the lifetime of several cabs and chassis. Engineered with longevity in mind, they are put to the test every day by B & F Power Vac, the local air duct cleaning company owned and operated by the Mattoons. This proving ground gives American Caddy Vac the “on the ground” information and input needed to constantly improve the quality and user friendliness of their cleaners.
Durability is critical to our customers and it’s a refrain we hear often. Paul Welhouse, President and Owner of Well-House Air Duct Cleaning in Oneida, Wisconsin says, “They are a virtually maintenance-free truck in my opinion. They run and run and run and run. With age, of course, anything wears out, but the Caddy Vac they build, it doesn’t seem to wear out. You may get a little rust, (and now they’re making them out of stainless steel!) but it’s the chassis that wear out, or the engine on the truck may wear out or the breaks… but the Caddy Vacs that he builds are really sound, durable pieces of equipment and I love them.” Paul just purchased a new stainless steel American Caddy Vac and expects it to hold up for years and years. “You know, bearings and parts like that, they build them with such heavy duty bearings and other parts that, just with regular maintenance, nothing wears out. In the last 22 plus years, I’ve only had one bearing go out with my American Caddy Vac trucks. In 5 years, my first truck (that was not an American Caddy Vac) had probably 10 bearings go out and it took a whole day to fix the bearing. And if you know what you’re doing you could probably change a bearing in an hour or two on the American Caddy Vac. They’re just built so well, they’re overbuilt.”
Mike Palazzolo believes that durability is what truly sets American Caddy Vac apart from other manufacturers. Mike is President and CEO of Safety King Air Ducts Cleaning in Utica, Michigan. They run 10 American Caddy Vacs. He says, “Much of what makes Caddy Vac so great isn’t just new or novel concepts… a lot of the features on their trucks aren’t new ides… American Caddy Vac has just perfected the execution. So for example, the concept of a PTO driven vacuum, that’s been around for a long time… but the gearing was too small and the bodies weren’t put together the right way so they broke frequently and they rusted out after just a couple of years… What American Caddy Vac is doing is the same ideas, they have just perfected the execution. So the truck is a lot more durable, it’s a self-contained unit, it has everything we need on it, it’s a fantastic billboard when it’s on the road or on a jobsite. Those are some of the things that we like best about it. And TONS of power!”
Every component on the American Caddy Vac is built to last, making the Caddy Vac an investment in your company’s future. If you ask around, you’ll find that those who own one or more Caddy Vacs rely on them above any other manufacturer because they work. And they work for a very long time.
