American Caddy Vac was born of the need to develop a Power Vac truck that could meet the rigorous needs of an industry that required power, mobility, and longevity.
Mac and Donna Mattoon had been operating B & F Power-Vac in Lewiston Idaho for years, using trucks that required constant maintenance. In fact, they kept three trucks in their fleet so they could be operating two of them while repairing and maintaining the third. That meant lots of hours out of every day and every weekend maintaining trucks that simply couldn’t handle the strain. On top of that, their existing trucks often couldn’t provide the suction necessary for larger commercial jobs.
In the early 90’s Mac and Donna got aquainted with some cleaners in Canada who were experimenting and designing new Power Vac trucks with innovation in mind. The Mattoons saved their money, and in 1996 purchased their first Caddy Vac for B & F Power-Vac. Over time, the two families became friends and partners, and that led to the formation of American Caddy Vac in 1998.
The two companies worked together to create new trucks designed to be low maintenance and reliable. The need for power was at the forefront of their design. Over time, standard and optional features were added based on the experience of the B & F crews.
Today, American Caddy Vac has become the industry standard simply because their trucks are designed for the needs of their customers. In addition to listening to their own technicians from B&F PowerVac, the Mattoons also take very seriously the input they receive from their customers. A case in point is a recommendation Mac received from one customer who was traveling down the highway on a very windy day in Wyoming when their bag doors were tossed open by the wind… That led to the innovation of locking bag doors.
One of the greatest benefits of having an Air Duct Cleaning Company is the ability to offer the very best customer service. When customers call with any kind of a problem, or needing a recommendation for a tool, or just advice on how to tackle a tricky job, the pros at American Caddy Vac have answers because they have been doing the same work for decades!
Anthony Paterno, the Owner of Anthony Paterno Air Duct Cleaning in New Jersey talked about using this unique resource: “The reason they know my trucks so well is because they run a fleet of their own trucks and have for decades. So if I have a question about the operation or maintenance of one of my trucks, they know the answer because they have already had the same experience, they’re walking the same mile I am. That makes a huge difference when you call. They don’t just make these trucks. They use these trucks.”
James Clark, Owner of Above All Duct Cleaning Services in Alberta has had the same experience… “I just call and explain what I need and they have answers for any problem. If it’s a part or a tool, they know exactly what I’m talking about and they ship it ASAP. They’re on it!”
The tools that American Caddy Vac makes and sells are also designed and tested in cooperation with B & F Power-Vac. In fact, many of these tools have been developed to meet the needs of the B & F crews! Each tool has been tested, refined, and used extensively on the job before it is ever added to their catalog. This is a fact that does not go unnoticed by their customers, most of whom purchase all or part of their tools from American Caddy Vac. Tony Patania, owner of COIT Services in Fort Mill, South Carolina says, “All my stuff (tools) comes from American Caddy Vac. I get all my rods and sticks and air blowers, whips, hoses, everything. They’re very high quality and Mac’s crew is quick and first class!”
The story goes on and on. There is a true fellowship amongst Air Duct Cleaning professionals. The Mattoons don’t just manufacture and sell American Caddy Vacs. They use them every day. They are experts about every truck, every accessory, every tool. And American Caddy Vac customers know that when they call, the advice and service they receive is not just theory. It’s experience.
