Every duct cleaning job brings it’s own challenges. At American Caddy Vac we use our extensive experience in our own air duct cleaning business to make sure we stock the right whip tool for each situation. Whips have been used for decades in the cleaning business, but we have improved on some designs and developed new designs to make sure we are using the best tools for our business, and offer the best tools for your air duct cleaning business as well.
It’s important to create the proper agitation for each application. For example, removing dust from rectangular ductwork requires a different level of agitation than removing creosote from a chimney, or removing lint from a dryer vent.
At American Caddy Vac, we offer a great variety of whips so your crew will be ready for whatever greets them on the job site.
The classic 8-whip is a great tool to have in your arsenal for main trunk lines. It’s an extremely efficient cleaning machine!
For those times when you can’t access commercial laterals because the 8-whip is a bit too large to fit through a vent opening, we developed the original micro 5-whip with a much smaller diameter. With this tool, you can easily access those laterals through the vent openings.
Some applications require a much more aggressive agitation profile, such as chimneys that need a lot of pop to dislodge creosote. At American Caddy Vac we developed the 3-Whip with a thicker whip and more powerful punch! Our techs love this tool because it makes cleaning chimneys so much simpler and faster than using whips with a less aggressive action.
And if you really need to make an impact, the single-whip offers our most aggressive agitation action. This tool is made to break loose extremely stubborn materials. The Single-whip needs strong, consistent pressure. It works best with a quick-recovery compressor operating between 200 and 250psi.
You don’t need this tool every day, but when you need it, it’s typically the only tool that will get the job done.
Along with these options, American Caddy Vac also offers whips in varying degrees of flexibility for the 8 whips and 5 whips. Our florescent green whips are more flexible. They require less pressure from the compressor to create the whip action. These green whips are ideal for flex duct and duct board because they apply a more gentle whipping action. The blue whips are more rigid and require higher pressure from your compressor, but will work better in metal ducts.
And with all our whips, we offer the option of standard, reverse air wash, and forward air wash. If you have enough vacuum, the standard unit is a great tool to dislodge dust, dirt, and debris inside the duct while it is under vacuum.
If you don’t have adequate vacuum, use either the forward or reverse jet version to push or pull the debris toward your vacuum hose. You can easily distinguish between the forward and reverse because the main body of the forward jet is blue and the main body of the reverse jet is green.
In our air duct cleaning business, we keep all of these options in all of our trucks so we always have the best tool for every situation. And if any parts get broken or wear out, remember that all of elements of these tools are available from American Caddy Vac. Whip replacement sets, bulk whip material, and all the hardware are in stock and ready to ship.
So take a minute to evaluate your whips! If we can be of any help just give us a call. Whoever answers the phone has used them all, and can work with you to select the best tools for any application. And during the month of March, purchase any 5 whips and get 5 whip replacement sets free!
