At American Caddy Vac our customers have to be at the core of all we do.  Of course our customers use our rigs every day, and they have a lot of wisdom to share.  Here’s a few samples we’ve gleaned over the years…

Upgrade to the Quincy 370 Compressor

Eric loves the (optional) Quincy 370 compressor because it allows him to run two different crews at the same time.  That extra power really makes a difference on commercial jobs.

Purchase high quality tools you can rely on.

Paul is a big fan of the tools that American Caddy Vac builds.  “There are specialty tools in our industry and everyone needs them, but I regularly buy tools from American Caddy Vac.  I buy my work material from American Caddy Vac because I can easily make replacements because they make tools that can be repaired!  They hold up well, but these tools get used heavily every day and its nice to be able to just replace what wears out.  Calling with any need, it’s always a good experience.  They’re always very organized, they always get back to you when they say they will, whether it’s ordering a new truck or ordering tools.  I don’t waste a bunch of time on the phone… it’s a great experience.”

If you use portables, extend their use with your American Caddy Vac

“We do a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial cleaning projects,” Peters said. “We have clients like Boeing, the United States Navy, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, a lot of medical facilities, school districts, along with cities and other municipalities.”

Peters says they use portable units for jobs that are in multi-story buildings, but their American Caddy Vac offers far more power than the portables so it has become a cornerstone of their operation.

Stephens says they even take the Caddy Vac on marine vessels, “If it’s a ferry and we can drive the truck on, then we’ll use it.” The Northwest Abatement team has used their American Caddy Vac on ferries while they have even been in motion on the water. Peters and Stephens agree that the vessels are a fun way to switch up the mundane stuff of being in buildings. But they say it’s all about feasibility. If the truck can get access to the air handling units on a job, then they prefer to use it.

“We prefer to use the American Caddy Vac if we can, because it produces a lot more CFM than portable units and it is a great marketing tool for us,” Stephens said.

Plan and prepare for the cold!

There can be challenges working in the “great white North”, mostly dealing with the cold. Clark says, “All of our cleaners are kept inside in a heated bay at night, so we start each day warm. Of course, the main issue for us, like anyone who works in the cold, is freezing of the air. We drain our tanks after each job and then we also add an additive like methyl hydrate, which Caddy Vac has provided. Again, everything is easily accessible which makes this process pretty simple.”

Start with well-trained crews

When Patania bought is first American Caddy Vac his crew went to Idaho for training and had a great experience.  Now he stays ahead of the competition by keeping his air cleaning staff certified and well trained, and running a well organized and reliable business, with high quality equipment.

Use only the best, most reliable and durable equipment

The Palazzolos purchased their first American Caddy Vac in 1999 and have purchased a total of around 20 since then, new and used. What sets American Caddy Vac apart from other cleaners? MJ didn’t have any trouble with that question: “Much of what makes Caddy Vac so great isn’t just new or novel concepts… a lot of the features on their trucks aren’t new ideas… American Caddy Vac has just perfected the execution. So for example, the concept of a PTO driven vacuum, that’s been around for a long time… but the gearing was too small and the bodies weren’t put together the right way so they broke frequently and they rusted out after just a couple of years… What American Caddy Vac is doing is the same ideas, they have just perfected the execution. So the truck is a lot more durable, it’s a self-contained unit, it has everything we need on it, it’s a fantastic billboard when it’s on the road or on a job site. Those are some of the things that we like best about it. And TONS of power!”
